Accessibility Statement

The Website is jointly managed by the Igrane Tourist Board, as the project holder, and the Tourist Board of the Municipality of Podgora, as the coordinator and content editor. The Igrane Tourist Board, as the operator of the Makarska Riviera website, is committed to making its website accessible in accordance with the Act on the Accessibility of Websites and Software Solutions for Mobile Devices of Public Sector Bodies (Official Gazette No. 17/19), which transposes Directive (EU) 2016/2102 of the European Parliament and of the Council into Croatian law.

This Accessibility Statement applies to the website www.makarska-riviera.hr.

The Website is supported in terms of content and promotion by the nine tourist boards comprising the Makarska Riviera Cluster:

The Makarska Riviera Cluster is not a legal entity but an informal association of tourist boards. The Cluster, as such, is not entered in the court register or any other public register as an independent legal entity. All rights, obligations and liabilities relating to the Website, including the processing of personal data, copyright and responsibility for the content, are assumed by the Igrane Tourist Board in its capacity as the operator of the Website.

Compliance Status

This website is partially compliant with the Act on the Accessibility of Websites and Software Solutions for Mobile Devices of Public Sector Bodies, subject to the exceptions listed below.

Non-Accessible Content
Certain images do not contain alt attributes and/or brief text descriptions.
Descriptions of certain images are excessively long.
Video and audio content does not include subtitles in Croatian.
Some files, including .zip, .pdf, .xls and .doc files and similar formats, are not available in a format that can be read by a screen reader.
Some elements have insufficient colour contrast, and keyboard navigation is not enabled.
In some cases, links are not descriptive and do not provide information about the content to which they lead; instead, they contain only expressions such as “more” or “here”.
The Website contains images that include text but are not logos, such as scanned documents.
Some older content contains inaccessible elements, including incorrectly used HTML elements, nested tables and similar elements.

The Igrane Tourist Board is working to remedy the identified instances of non-compliance in accordance with the human and technical resources available to it. The anticipated timeframe for resolving the identified accessibility issues is 2026–2027.

Preparation of This Statement

This Statement was prepared on 6 July 2026 using the Accessibility Statement Template established by Commission Implementing Decision (EU) 2018/1523 and compliant with Directive (EU) 2016/2102 of the European Parliament and of the Council on the accessibility of the websites and mobile applications of public sector bodies.

The assessment of compliance with accessibility requirements is based on a self-assessment conducted by the Igrane Tourist Board in accordance with WCAG 2.1 Level AA. The Igrane Tourist Board will review this Statement regularly as the reasons for the inaccessibility of particular content are remedied, and at least once a year.
